Chota Peg and Lime is committed to providing you mobile bar services in accordance with our Terms & Conditions.
All bookings confirmations made verbally or via written form, email or letter are subject to theses terms and conditions. Please ensure that this signed form is returned with the deposit of £250 to Chota Peg and Lime via firstname.lastname@example.org.
ALCOHOL SERVED AT YOUR EVENT
Chota Peg and Lime will be the sole provider of all drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic throughout the event, unless previously agreed otherwise in writing. Although we are happy for table wine, welcome drinks or toast drinks to be provided by a third party (caterer/client) this within reason only during the meal. Once the meal is completed, (or in the last 4 (four) hours of the event, whichever applied first), all remaining opened and unopened bottles of alcohol is to be removed from the table. If any alcohol not provided by Chota Peg and Lime remains on the table after the meal or during the last 4 (four) hours of the event, the client will lose their deposit and right to free bar hire.
Amounts of drinks made available must be declared when booking, if this amount is exceeded or continues to be served outside of agreed times, it will result in a loss of deposit as well as the right to free bar hire, possible the closure of the bar until the situation has been rectified. Please note that because the bar is free to hire our only income is that which we make on bar sales, if people are supplied with free alcohol no matter how small. This can impact our margins severely.
All quotations (verbal or written) will be valid for 10 (ten) days from the date of enquiry. We cannot guarantee that the date will be available thereafter. Chota Peg and Lime bookings are done on a first come first serve basis, therefore to hold and confirm a booking the client must pay a 50% deposit upfront via electronic transfer or PayPal and the remainder 4 (four) working days before the event.
Chota Peg and Lime will contact you at least 1 (one) week prior to your event to confirm times and the final number of guests or participants. If the number of guests changes at this time, we will adjust the remaining balance accordingly, following the event. We are always willing to accommodate additional guests to the event where possible. However, after we have confirmed the final number, we cannot offer any refunds.
Remaining balances for any event is on the closure of the event (night/day event takes place).
Cash Bar Hire packages require a non-refundable set-up fee to hold date and cover the cost of the temporary alcohol license, provided we are the only drinks provider at the event, that there are at least 100 (one hundred) adults in attendance and at least 6 (six) hours of continuative service. Should the caterer include wine or soft drinks within their package and Chota Peg and Lime is informed as required, the non-refundable set-up fee will be adjusted considering these factors.
Unlimited Bar Hire packages provide an unlimited number of drinks, this will be done in accordance of the capability of the bartenders/bar staff within the time frame agreed. The staff reserve the right to stop the service if it believed an abuse of alcohol is taking place. Shots are strictly not included within this package unless otherwise agreed by both parties.
Chota Peg and Lime operates under the Licensing Act 2003 and all relevant restrictions will be upheld. All outstanding payments due to Chota Peg and Lime on the closure of the event(day/night the event takes place) unless otherwise stipulated by Chota Peg and Lime.
DEPOSIT – PLEASE NOTE!
The deposit paid will NOT be returned if:
The number of guests in attendance is more than ten (10) adults less than the quoted number on your booking form. (e.g. If we have been informed that 80 (eighty) adults are attending but only 69 (sixty nine) attend, we will withhold the deposit; children are not included in these figures)
The bar takes less than £1200 in bar taking on the day, OR
A guest is found to be supplying their own alcohol, OR
Third party alcohol is not removed from tables after the bar has been opened, OR
Cancellation of the event.
To calculate these figures, we will do three-head-counts during the event, one after the bar opens, mid-way through the event and an hour prior to the bar closing. If the average number of people is below that which is quoted on your booking form, we will withhold the deposit. We are more than happy for you to have a pre-nominated person to carry out headcounts with us. Please inform them to discuss with this us on their arrival.
Should your event be far future we are happy to accept your booking without a figure, provided that the final confirmation of numbers if provided no later than 8 (eight) weeks before the event. We can accept bookings below 60 (sixty) adults when discussed with a Chota Peg and Lime representative where a specialized quotation will be calculated. Any booking that subsequently fails to meet minimum numbers will be cancelled and result in a loss of deposit.
If, leading up to your event, your number of adult guests falls below 60 (sixty), we must be informed immediately. We do not cover events for less than 60 (sixty) adults unless the quotation provided has been preapproved and reserve the right to withdraw our services in this instance. If it is discovered that numbers have dropped below 60 (sixty) adults without informing us, and we have not been given notice, our service will be withdrawn with a full loss of deposit and possible charge of £500 for Intentional Deception (to be outlined below).
There is a 4 (four) hour minimum booking time for all members of staff unless pre-agreed, this does not include travel time. Overtime can be agreed on the night with the Chota Peg and Lime staff in charge of the event should the client wish to extend the service. Any additional staff hours will be charged separately and is to be paid by the closure of the event. Hours worked after midnight by any staff member will be charged at double the standard rate, and taxi fare of £25 per taxi per staff member will be included in this charge.
Any cancellation will result in the deposit being lost if a license for your event has been applied and paid for. Chota Peg and Lime requires written notice of 14 (fourteen) working days before the event. Failure to do so will result in a 100%, non-refundable service charge. Booking deposits are not transferable or refundable unless otherwise agreed prior to booking and stated in writing.
Chota Peg and Lime does not accept any liability for any failure to provide services which is due to circumstances beyond our control, such as extreme weather conditions, vehicle road traffic collision, fire alarm evacuation, electricity or water failure or an “act of God”.
Chota Peg and Lime has a full Public Liability Insurance. Copies of certificates are available upon request.
ACCESS TO EVENT
The client is responsible for ensuring that their delivery and collection instructions are consistent with parking restrictions. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that there is sufficient access and parking on the day of the event, as well as suitable unloading and loading facilities at the venue. For vehicle registration number please contact a member of our team.
If on the day of the event, the venue is found to be in an undeclared, remote venue with access that is unsuitable or impossible for our vehicle to access (with or without causing damage), we may refuse to provide our service with a full loss of deposit. If damage is caused to our vehicle whilst negotiating undeclared and unsuitable access, the client will be liable for all repair costs to the vehicle. Chota Peg and Lime reserve the right to pass on to the client the costs of any fines incurred due to wrong or incorrect instructions.
The client is responsible to ensure that the building access is suitable for us to fit our equipment through. Kindly contact us if you have any concerns. Should we arrive, and our equipment does not fit through the door, we will be unable to provide your bar.
Throughout the event, our vehicle needs to be parked as close to the venue/marquee/room as possible to allow us to re-stock the bar and dispose of rubbish. Due to the size and weight of the equipment we use, we must be able to park next to the building or marquee where the event is being held, and we must have good safe access to the room that you wish the bar to be set up in.
We cannot be expected to carry large, heavy equipment long distances and up flights of stairs. Should we arrive at a venue and access for vehicle is unsuitable or access for staff carrying equipment is assessed to be dangerous, we reserve the right to refuse to provide service and there will be no refund.
We require an absolute minimum of 2 (two) hours to set up. Where access to the venue is difficult (e.g. third floor where a lift is to be used), it may take longer to set up and break down but the more time we can be given to do so the better. We also require an absolute minimum of 1.5 (one and a half) hours from the bar closing to dismantle and vacate the venue.
The bar must be positioned within the main event room. The bar must be open and available from the arrival of the first guest. We do not provide draught beer for events with less than 180 (one hundred and eighty) attending adults.
Dismantling of the bar and vacating the venue can only take place when the room is clear enough for it to be safe. Chota Peg and Lime will not be responsible for any cost incurred by the client because of any delay vacating the venue due to the room not being clear of guests in time or other time delaying factors.
PAYMENTS FOR DRINKS
We do not offer credit and will not run a tab for anyone other than the client. From time to time we may be required to update these terms and conditions. By signing these terms and conditions, you agree to abide by any amendments that may be required to be added at any time between now and your event. You will be informed of any changes.
New legislation – “The 2014 order” which forms part of the licensing act 2013 states “free tap water should be provided on request to customers, where it is reasonably available.” As a mobile bar, we do not have taps and there it is not “reasonably available.” We are happy to provide guests with a glass to help themselves to tap water in other areas of the building, but we do not permit staff to leave the bar to fetch tap water.
Where the event is being held in a marquee and water is not “reasonably available”, it is the client’s responsibility to provide free water to the guests. As always, bottled water will be available to purchase at the bar.
The client is to provide lighting behind the bar, to allow guests to be served in safety and for the Chota Peg and Lime staff to be able to work safely behind the bar. If we are unable to see our tills or station, we cannot serve!
If the event is taking place in a marquee, in winter, the client must provide suitable heating. Should the event be taking place in summer, suitable shade should be provided.
Failure to provide suitable heating, lighting or shade may result in a refusal to provide bar services with no refund of the deposit.
Chota Peg and Lime reserve the right to dress their staff to suit the weather conditions. We have a duty to care to our staff and in extreme weather (hot or cold) we will dress our staff in appropriate clothing, which may include smart shorts or a cold weather fleece. Please note that all staff will remain professionally dressed.
As with all licensed premises, Chota Peg and Lime operate under “The Licensing Act, 2003” and we operate a “Challenge 25” policy meaning no alcohol will be sold to any individual under 18 years under any circumstances.
All guests that appear to be under 25 years of age will require a photo ID; inability to produce suitable id will prevent us from serving alcohol to the individual. It is an offence to buy alcohol for a person under the age of 18. It is an offence to supply alcohol to an adult if you believe it will be supplied to a person under 18.
Service will be refused if we believe a person is buying alcohol for an individual under the age of 18 years. Any person that we believe to be under 18 years and cannot prove otherwise, who is seen consuming alcohol, will have that alcohol removed from them.
To avoid embarrassment, please inform your guests that photo ID will be required. Guests are NOT permitted to bring their own alcohol to the event under any circumstances. Where a guest is found to be drinking their own alcohol, the client will lose their deposit and the bar will close until the situation is rectified. If the situation persists, Chota Peg and Lime reserves the right to close the bar and leave the venue, in which case the client will lose their deposit.
Chota Peg and Lime reserves the right to refuse service if our staff feel that a guest is excessively intoxicated. Threatening and / or abusive behavior towards staff will not be tolerated under any circumstances and will result in the closure of the bar and total withdrawal of services with no refund. Any physical attack on a member of staff will result in the bar closing immediately, without refund and the police being called.
In all instances, if a member of staff is attacked, a statement of complaint will be made to the Police and a criminal conviction pursued.
LOSS, DAMAGE OR BREAKAGES
Any loss or breakages of equipment will be the responsibility of the client and will be taken out of the deposit. Due to health and safety concerns, especially at marquee events on public or farm land, many venues will not allow glass to be used. Please be sure to confirm this with the venue. We only supply disposable plastic over the bar, but you are more than welcome to hire glasses for the bar to use on the day. Chota Peg and Lime can arrange this for you. We reserve the right to serve drinks in plastic glasses once the glass has run out. Glassware is supplied for any pre-ordered drinks as standard, including Welcome Drinks and Toasts. All lost or damaged glasses must be paid for and will be charged to the client after the event. Avoid charges for lost or damaged glass by opting for plastic glasses, which are provided free of charge.

CHAMPAGNE – £3.50
PINT – £2.00
HALF PINT – £2.00
WINE (LARGE) – £3.20
HIGH BALL – £2.00
Chota Peg and Lime takes all responsibility when setting up the bar, however we cannot be held responsible for the following:
- Scratches on the venue floor
- Drink spillages during service or by guests
- Any damage caused by guests
- Any perceived damage that was caused whilst carrying out normal bartender duties
Where the venue requires the floor to be protected underneath the bar, it is the client’s responsibility to ensure that the floor is covered prior to our arrival for set up.
All clients are reminded that they are responsible for their guest’s actions. If Chota Peg and Lime property is damaged by a guest, the client will be held responsible for the cost of replacing the item, the deposit will be retained until the bill is paid and issue resolved. Where damage to Chota Peg and Lime property exceeds the cost of the deposit, the deposit will be retained and a bill for the remaining amount will be presented to the client, payment will be due within 14 (fourteen) days.
DECEIVING CHOTA PEG AND LIME
Any situation considered to be Intentional Deception of Chota Peg and Lime will result in the loss of deposit and may incur an additional £500 hire charge to cover our attendance. Intentional Deception may include, but is not limited to:
- Supplying more drinks than previously agreed in writing by caterer / client / any third party
- Considerably low guest numbers / misinforming Chota Peg and Lime of guest numbers
- Supplying incorrect timings for event
